About Starry Night Café

Let me introduce you to Starry Night Café, a place that feels both thoughtfully crafted and comfortably familiar from the moment you arrive. Located at 5371 Ethan Allen Hwy in Ferrisburgh, Vermont, this New American restaurant blends creativity with a relaxed, welcoming energy that makes first-time visitors feel like regulars. The menu reflects a modern American approach, where comfort food meets fresh ideas, and where quality ingredients clearly matter. I often describe Starry Night Café as the kind of spot where you can enjoy a laid-back lunch, ease into a long dinner, or simply stop by for coffee and small plates without feeling rushed. In addition, the restaurant offers flexible service options, including dine-in experiences that encourage lingering conversations, takeaway for days when you want something special at home, and outdoor seating that shines during Vermont’s warmer months. The drink selection deserves attention as well, with a well-curated mix of wine, beer, craft cocktails, and spirits that pair naturally with the food. At the same time, coffee is treated with care, making it just as appealing for a casual visit or a quiet afternoon break. What really sets Starry Night Café apart is how effortlessly it balances indulgence and mindfulness in one setting. Alongside rich, comforting flavors, you will find healthy options, organic dishes, and satisfying vegetarian choices that never feel like afterthoughts. Moreover, the kitchen’s small plates invite sharing, which adds a social, almost celebratory feel to the table and encourages guests to explore the menu together. The service style matches the food and space, friendly without being overbearing, attentive without feeling scripted. For guests planning something more intimate, the private dining room offers a quieter setting without losing the restaurant’s warmth, making it suitable for gatherings that still feel personal and relaxed, while the overall atmosphere continues to feel lived-in, approachable, and full of everyday charm.

Cannot recommend this place enough. It was so yummy and it definitely was a hidden gem. Anyone who is going to Stowe I recommend stopping here. This is my first time having a fixed course menu, and it was the best. The service was also amazing despite it being Christmas Eve. The place was very cute too. We will be back 1000%.

What an absolute wonderful evening. From the moment we walked into the restaurant we were greeted with smiling staff, a comfortable atmosphere and beautifully appointed dining areas. We sat at the bar where Joey took excellent care of us. One dish after the other impressed our senses and palates. Such an excellent 1st experience and we look so forward to returning!

One of the top restaurants in the Burlington and surrounding areas. We have eaten there a few times and the food is usually spot on. A time or two things have been kind of weirdly seasoned but overall we have been happy with what we have gotten there. Be prepared to spend some money as the prices are fairly high and drinks are as well. They do have a good wine selection and creative cocktails.

Really a great restaurant. The building itself and the atmosphere are really cool and cozy. I've been here in multiple seasons and each time their menu is varied, interesting, and seasonal. The food tastes amazing and is really well done; most recently, the grilled zucchini on the side of the salmon was maybe the best grilled vegetable I've ever had, aside from the whole dish being great. Contender for best restaurant I've been to in VT or anywhere

What a beautiful restaurant. The staff were all excellent from describing the food to the service, the food itself was local and excellently prepared. We ate family style so we could share as much as possible, you don’t want to just eat one thing here. Having tried many award winning restaurants across 6 continents I can honestly say that Starry Night Café is worth a trip.

We went because our neighbor gave us a gift card. Overall I would rate it 7 out of 10, or 4 out of 5. There were three main errors that prevented it from being a perfect experience. The flavor of the food was spot on except for one part of the steak tartare which I will cover later. The first mistake was right when we were seated. They say the two of us next to two large very noisy groups of 5+ people so we couldn't hear ourselves think for most of the dinner, but that's not a horrendous mess up if the restaurant is busy. The second mistake was the steak tartare. It was almost perfect except that the puffed rice they served with it was burnt and could be tasted through the cardamom seeds and creamy beef flavors very strongly. Other than that the tartare was very well blended between seasoning and beef flavors. The final mistake was with my pasta dish, the caccio e pepe, or cheese and pepper noodles. The noodles were almost raw when first served and had to be sent back for additional cooking. The positives overall outweighed the negatives and flavor wise everything was exceptional. The sirloin steak with black garlic was phenomenal, and the black garlic was noticeable but soft enough to blend in with the herbs and potatoes smoothly. The pot de creme was a nice blend of sweet maple cream, tart sauce and candied nuts and the lavender lemon cake was absolutely flawless.

We went here while visiting from Michigan. Safe to say that we chose correctly for our "treat yourself" meal. We had steak tartare, heirloom tomato toast, two pastas, the bass entree, two deserts, and 6 cocktails between three people. Portions were great. Service was great. Atmosphere was great. Drinks were great. The food was incredible.
